Children at All Saints

A relaxing area for children in the main worship space.

Little Saints!

Monday mornings in term time.

9.45am to 11am

"Little Saints!" is a popular and well established initiative of All Saints' Church.  It seeks to provide an opportunity for parents and carers of pre-school children to attend church in an unpressured and supportive environment.

What we do at Little Saints

Little Saints is our Monday church.

Come and see!

On a Monday morning starting at 9.45am we meet in the room with the toys.  Then when everyone is ready we go into the chapel where the sheep are always waiting for us.  We sit on our special mat.  We light our two candles, count our sheep and all the children.  We sing some very easy songs - with actions - then we have a story from the Bible, with words, pictures or something else special that the leader brings.  We enjoy getting the musical instruments out of the blue chest and playing them with gusto!  We end our time in the chapel by blowing out the candles together and singing our blessing song.

Then we go back to the toy room and make something - with a little bit of help!  After all this it's time to play and have a drink and a biscuit, while our parents and carers chat together.

Church-School Links

All Saints Church has close links with both Emscote Infants and All Saints Juniors.  The two schools are federated.
100 Angels  Advent (2016) the children from Emscote Infants Year 2 and Little Saints were involved in this community project.  Older members of the community joined in with them too, all making their panels.  The angels added a big splash of colour at Christmas.

The Tree of Freedom

Summer 2017 children in years 3 & 4 at All Saints school created this lovely artwork in paint and collage.  It was on show first at St Mary's.  Now it graces All Saints church - a wonderful gift from the school.

All the ideas below about the tree were generated by the children.

The Tree shows:

  • How everyone is free to play
  • How everyone can be together as a family
  • Anyone can join the tree, no matter who they are
  • No one is asking them to do anything to join
  • They are free and have the right to be the person and spirit that they   want to be
  • They can fly away if they want to
  • They can go wherever they want
  • They aren't trapped
  • They are free to make their own choices
  • They are in the open air

In June 2018 OFSTED rated All Saints a 'good' school and an 'outstanding' one for the quality of its spiritual, moral, social and cultural education.

Children at Sunday worship

Children are more than welcome at all our worship – and we don’t expect them to be angels!

Being 'at home' in the main worship space

There is a colourful, comfortable and inviting children's area.  It is a place where you can relax with your children and still be part of the worship.

One of the best ways to keep your children contented during worship is to engage them with what is going on by pointing out what is happening at different points.

Simply Worship
On the third Sunday of each month
We are enjoying experimenting with the Mass, finding new and varied  ways for the children to take a bigger part in the action, and daring to welcome something a bit different.   From the youngest to the oldest we are all taking part in an amazing drama and - together - we want to make the most of it.
Come and join in.  Let's see where the journey takes us!

Baptism in the Main Service
Always a very special and joyful occasion with lots of opportunities for the children to join in.  Our new baptism activity packs are also getting the children's approval.

All Saints School's Lenten activity day 2018
During Lent 2018 All Saints School came for an activity day.  Here are some of the children reflecting together on artist Jake Lever's installation 'The Blue and the Dim and the Gold'
The children tried on vestments from the old and new All Saints churches and looked together at the details on them.
They looked at things used in the sanctuary.

A good day was had by all.
