Children at our Sunday Worship
Children are more than welcome at all our worship – and we don’t expect them to be angels!
For infants and babies there is a play mat with some toys on the left hand side of church. One of the best ways to keep your children contented during worship is to engage them with what is going on by pointing out what is happening at different points in the service. There are baby changing facilities in the disabled toilet by the rear door of church.
We are currently rethinking our Sunday School provision for children of primary school age. In there meantime activities are available - please ask on arrival for details.
Secondary aged children are encouraged to get involved with music, singing, reading or serving. Have a word with us if you would like this to happen.
"Little Saints!" is a popular initiative of All Saints' Church, which seeks to provide an opportunity for the parents and carers of pre-school children to attend church in an unpressured and supportive environment. It qualifies as a Fresh Expression within the Church of England.
On a Monday morning starting at 9.45am we meet in the chapel (which is warm and carpeted) at All Saints' where we sing some very easy songs most of which have actions that go with them (parents and carers are encouraged to join in as well!). Then we have a learning time during which the leaders tells one of the stories from the Bible, or we look at and talk about some pictures, or the leader brings in some things to show us. Then we go to another room and do a simple craft activity (parents and carers may have to lend a helping hand!). Then we return to the chapel to sing some more songs and say a prayer.
After all of this, the parents and carers have a much needed cup of tea/coffee and a chat while the children have cup of squash and a biscuit and play with some of the toys we have in church!
Everyone is welcome.
